Thanksgiving in the homeland.

I spent Thanksgiving this at home with all my family and two good friends in tow. The weekend consisted of a lot of eating, sleeping, shopping and football. Just my type of weekend! On Thanksgiving I was graced with the presence of everyone in my family minus one Aunt and Uncle. I was so lucky to have everyone around me. I even got to spend some quality time with my Grandma. She is such an amazing woman and has been a large part of my life. I don’t know what I am going to do without her some day! I also finally got to see Taylor cheer. We even went Black Friday shopping! I am so truly thankful for my family, friends and sorority sisters who pour out their love and support to me. I am forever blessed with such an amazing life and those who share it with me. Here are a few pictures from the weekend!

Family love.

We attended a Boise State football game, my first since leaving Boise. It was so good to go back to the blue!

Getting excited for the next holiday, CHRISTMAS!

Cheers to being 21.

Lets just say my 21st birthday as a blast. We started out at midnight at a bar named Dick and Dixies! There I had a few drinks, but had the company of four of my closest friends in Utah.

On the actual day of my birth I unfortunately had to go to class. Lorin took me out for lunch and dessert too. At lunch we randomly were filmed for an episode of the television show What Would You Do on ABC. I’ll be sure to post the air-date so everyone can watch us giggle away on camera.

For dinner we went to my favorite restaurant in Utah, Red Iguana! It was delicious like always. There, my wonderful friends purchased me my first ever tequila shots. Lets just say they weren’t my favorite.

Following dinner we went to a bar named the Tavernacle. There we had lots of fun chatting, drinking and singing karaoke!

One of the funniest things of the night was the 21 paddle that Lorin and Jorgiea made for me! For each person who buys a drink, they get to sign the back. It became quite the hit!

I am so thankful to all the friends who helped me celebrate. I realized how many amazing friends and family I have that truly love and support me. I was showered with gifts and the presence of my favorite people. What more could I ask for?! Here’s to being 21.

Cheers!

Friendship

On my birthday I realized I have many many great friends. I am so lucky to have as much love and caring from my friends and family as I do!

How did I miss Halloween?!

Every year, Halloween becomes less and less exciting as you grow up. No parties at school, sometimes we don't dress up and a HUGE lack of candy. Although, somehow I always seem to find the Halloween spirit. This year we made cookies, decorated our house and dressed up a few nights! We didn't do anything too exciting, but its still fun to dress up! Our house decided to be Disney characters! I was Minnie, Alexis: Jane from Tarzan, Kelsey: Pocahontas and Ashley: Tinkerbell!

More Crafts

I crafted a paddle and key box for my little and here is the final product! :)

Initiation Week

This last week was Kappa Kappa Gamma's initiation week. Initiation is such an inspiring time during the year for Kappa. There is so much to learn for our new members and provides a great reminder for the actives as to why we pledged KKG. Monday night we return the pledge pins, Tuesday and Thursday are family nights, Wednesday is progressive dinner and ritual, followed by dinner and ritual on Friday. The week is so busy but in return extremely rewarding! Here are a few photos from the week!

Football Season

Just thought I would share a few photos from football season. The UTES haven't been doing too well, but we have hope!

More Kappa: Founders Day

Founders Day is a day that Kappa Kappa Gamma celebrates being founded. We have a brunch with actives, alumni and new members. There are speeches, awards, pins awarded and lots of photographs taken. We close with our ritual. My favorite part is seeing all of the old ladies hobble on in and sit quietly with their friends and just watch and smile at the active and new members. I can only imagine the memories that are being brought back to them. Some day that will be me too, and it is a friendly reminder that Kappa is for a lifetime. This year one of the alumni looked at Kylie King and said "If you live long enough you will get a pin." How sweet. Here are a few photos of the fun morning at Salt Lake Country Club.

Songfest

I have to admit. The past month or so has taken me by storm. I haven’t been able to blog so here I am trying to play catch up. At the beginning of the month, Kappa participated in the homecoming festivities. The main thing we do is a competition between the houses on greek row called Songfest. Each sorority house makes up songs and dances to a theme. This year, Kappa had the theme of sports. We wore red football, baseball and basketball jerseys. And of course, WE WON! Kappa hasn’t won in a while so it was a very exciting event!
