Founders Day at KKG.

Every year our Kappa chapter gathers round to celebrate the founding of our wonderful organization. This year it was held at The Salt Lake Country Club. Each year of attending the Founder's Day brunch I feel like I have gained so much more from Kappa. This year I was not only presented an award, but I was able to pin a woman who was receiving her 65 year pin for 65 years of membership in Kappa Kappa Gamma. I was also able to "slip the grip" with an alumna and stand next to her during ritual. It was amazing to see that 65 years later she still remembered the handshake and the song we song. After she leaned over to me and said, "They start that song too high. I have such a deep voice that it would sound like a man was in the room if I sung. So I just mouth the words." I couldn't help but laugh with her, because that is exactly how I feel sometimes!

I am so blessed and beyond honored to receive the Alice Pittman Award at our Kappa Kappa Gamma Founder's Day celebration today. I am thankful to be a part of such an amazing organization. Kappa has taught me so much in my college years. The feelings and memories are unexplainable. I look forward many many more years of memories, philanthropic efforts and self-growth in Kappa Kappa Gamma.
